Allison Bidlack is a Research Associate Professor in IARC. She came to IARC from NOAA, where she briefly served as Deputy Director of the NOAA-NMFS Alaska Fisheries Science Center Auke Bay Lab Division in Juneau. Prior to that Allison was the director of the Alaska Coastal Rainforest Center at UAS and co-investigator with the AK CASC. During her eight years at ACRC she established the Center as a hub for collaborative, multidisciplinary research on coastal margin ecosystem processes and climate change, focusing on issues of concern to coastal communities and industries in Alaska.
Allison has a broad background in ecology and resource management, with a current research portfolio focused on the linked terrestrial and marine ecosystems of the northeast Pacific coastal temperate rainforest. She has a BS in Natural Resource Ecology and Management from the University of Michigan, a MS in Biology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and a PhD in Environmental Science, Policy and Management from the University of California, Berkeley. Allison enjoys kayaking, skiing, and all things outdoors.
