Role at AK CASC: Tribal Liaison
Justin serves as the link between Alaska’s tribes and the climate research community. In his role, he seeks ways to connect, support and further initiatives between these two groups, along with additional collaborators, which assists tribes in preparing for and responding to climate impacts
Justin received his B.S. in wildlife management from the University of Georgia. He received his M.S. in fisheries from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where he focused on Chinook salmon in the Yukon and Kuskokwim rivers. He comes to the AK CASC after spending 10 years as a fishery biologist for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. As a fishery biologist, he worked with crab and salmon research, and wild fisheries stock management in Northwest Alaska, the Alaskan interior, and the Aleutian Islands.
