Megan Pittas serves as a Research Associate and Assistant Coordinator for the Alaska Tribal Resilience Learning Network. She’s particularly grateful for the opportunity to learn from and alongside the diverse Indigenous communities all around Alaska and the Arctic, and to help work together for a just transition across local, state, federal, and international levels. Megan works on a variety of projects with the learning network: including projects examining climate related immigration, land planning and decision making, health and wellness, and long term resilience and sustainability. She also works collaboratively with Inspiring Girls Expeditions, particularly as the Onsite Coordinator for Girls on Ice and as a key research associate for an upcoming expedition supporting Indigenous Youth.

Megan completed her undergraduate coursework at the University of Maryland College Park with a B.A. in Government & Politics (International Relations concentration) and a B.A. in Psychology. She’s begun graduate coursework examining the intersections of climate change, gender, and international peace and conflict, and aims to help build pathways toward a more sustainable and peaceful future for all.
