Food Sovereignty and Security in Alaska
Food sovereignty and security is vital to Alaska whether it is the food off the grocery store shelves or traditionally harvested food by indigenous people, the latter being crucial to their cultural identity and well-being. Changes in the environment continues to challenge Alaska Native communities to adapt at the same pace to maintain food sovereignty/security. This month’s information sessionhad speakers share experiences, knowledge, and opportunities to further support the effort of increasing food sovereignty and security.
