Group: Tribal Climate Resilience Liaison
My name is Jolene Auliye. I am Inupiaq from Shaktoolik, Alaska. I am a shareholder of the Bering Straits Native Corporation. I am married with three children. I am the oldest daughter of Rita and the late William Auliye. My maternal grandparents are Edgar Sr and the late Helen Jackson. I worked as an Environment Coordinator for the Native Village of Shaktoolik, from 2011-2014, 2016-2021. In late 2021, I started my career as the Community Coordinator for the Native Village of Shaktoolik. Since then, I’ve been involved with our local organizations, regional and state organizations, hosting monthly meetings to address climate change in our village. I love spending time with my children outdoors, teaching and showing them our traditional values, fishing, hunting, and gathering food from our land. I also like to read, write, and play basketball.
