AK CASC Ambassadors Program

The Alaska Climate Adaptation Science Center began its Ambassadors Program in 2025. The goals of the program are to provide seed funding to support UA faculty to participate in actionable climate adaptation science and to grow the AK CASC network. Ambassador projects are selected each year to receive $20,000 grants to conduct activities to support work related to climate adaptation and to engage in the AK CASC community.

Applications for the 2026 cohort of Ambassadors is now closed. Recruiting for the 2027 cohort is expected to open in summer of 2026.

Eligibility

The PI must be a University of Alaska (UA) faculty member (tenure-track, research, or term faculty may apply but adjunct faculty are not eligible). Faculty from UA’s rural and community campuses are particularly encouraged to apply. If you are unsure about your eligibility, please reach out at the emails below with any questions.

How do I know if my project idea is aligned with the AK CASC goals?

We highly encourage potential applicants to reach out early to share your project idea and ensure alignment with the AK CASC. Read about past funded Ambassador projects below.
